John Lloyd Cruz, First From Southeast Asia to Receive Star Asia Award in New York

Kapamilya actor John Lloyd Cruz will receive the Star Asia award at the 15th New York Asian Film Festival (NYAFF).<br />
<br />
Cruz is the first Filipino to receive such an award in the United States and the first Southeast Asian to receive an honor.<br />

John Lloyd joins two other Asian actors, Miriam Yeung from Hong Kong and Lee Byung-Hun from South Korea as recipients of the prestigious award.<br />

Another Filipina is set to be honored at the film fest and this is 15-year-old Therese 'Teri' Malvar, who'll receive her Screen International Rising Star Asia Award together with Japan's Go Ayano and China's Jelly Lin.<br />
<br />
The Philippines has three films in this Year's NYAFF: Erik Matti's Honor Thy Father, Ralston Jover's Hamog (Haze), and Mario Cornejo's Apocalypse Child.<br />

Benjamin actually took a phone from the audience and pointed the camera inside his shorts. What Alves didn't know was that the phone was in video mode, meaning, the said "naughty" act was recording the entire time, thus filming his own manhood.<br />

When asked about the said video, Alves said: "Huwag na nating pag-usapan...Tagal na niyan, tagal na po niyan. Wala na po ‘yan. Marami na po tayong nagawang bagay for such a long time na hindi na po kailangang pag-usapan, para sa akin. I’ve never talked about it so there’s no reason to talk about it now."<br />

He also shared his sentiments to his fellow artists involved in their own video scandals.<br />

"I felt bad for these people, nakakaawa kasi mga tao po sila, e. May mga pamilya po sila, e. They have parents as well so, kahit artista po kami, artista po sila, tao pa rin. You know that’s what you empathize with, kasi may mga magulang sila, eh."<br />

Benjamin Alves is currently with GMA-7 and is busy with his newest sitcom "A1 Ko Sa'yo."<br />

Last Friday, May 27, the King of Talk Boy Abunda said during his show 'Tonight With Boy Abunda' that according to his source, Melason is indeed experiencing marital problems.<br />

Paulo Avelino, Ejay Falcon, and the newest Kapamilya Ritz Azul, have started shooting the scenes for their upcoming teleserye 'The Promise of Forever'. The scenes were shot in different parts of Europe.<br />

According to an Instagram post of Dreamscape Entertainment TV (@dreamscapeph), the cast and crew members left the country last May 21st to shoot abroad.<br />

Ritz Azul was able to tape her scenes in Amsterdam while on May 23rd, Ritz and Paolo shot their scenes in Bruges, Belgium.<br />
<br />
The said teleserye will also be the first Pinoy Series to be shot in Prague, Czech Republic. According to Czech Republic Ambassador Jaroslav Olsa Jr via Facebook, their partnership with ABS-CBN will hopefully bring more Filipinos to visit the beautiful Czech Republic.<br />

The Promise of Forever will be aired this year on Primetime Bida.<br />
