Power Duo Wins Pilipinas Got Talent Season 5

The viewers and the judges have spoken and they have chosen Power Duo as the grand winners of  the recently concluded Pilipinas Got Talent Season 5, held at the Mall of Asia Arena, May 22, 2016. This is the first time in PGT history that the champion is not a singer.<br />

Power Duo receives 100% from the judges' and public votes combined. The couple brings home 2 million pesos.<br />

Coming in at 2nd place is Mariana Puala Madrigal aka Amazing Pyra, who got 66.57%, followed by magician Ody Sto. Domingo with 50.61%.<br />

The announcement of winners was lead by PGT 5 judges Vice Ganda, Angel Locsin, Freddie Garcia, and Robin Padilla.<br />
<br />
Power Duo's Anjanette and Gervin are acrobatic dancesport performers residing in Angono Rizal.<br />
<br />
The couple interpreted the song "Ikaw Lamang" which earned them a standing ovation from all the judges<br />
<br />
Vice Ganda commended the two, "Sa mundong punung-puno ng hinanakit, pinaniwala ninyo ako sa pag-ibig. That was not just dance. That's love. Tonight, love wins."<br />

Pyra performed her flaming skills despite having a minor accident during the rehearsals, while the voter's choice (45.12%) UA Mindanao amazed the audience and the judges for their death-defying motorcycle skills.<br />

Crossover Family is then selected by the four judges Freddie Garcia, Robin Padilla, Angel Locsin, and Vice Ganda unanimously which makes them the 2nd Grand Finalist of PGT. Crossover bested out Poor Voice, which has the 2nd number of votes.<br />
<br />
Next Option and Crossover Family also bested semifinalists Splitters, Baile de Luces of La Castellana, and Philip Galit.<br />

First hosted by Billy Crawford and replaced by Luis Manzano, Celebrity Showtime aired its first episode last September 26, 2016 and has become a daily afternoon habit for Kapamilya viewers. <br />

In the last episode of the said game show, Manzano gives credit to the staffs and crew of Celebrity Playtime.<br />

<i>"For every successful show, it's thanks to the people behind the camera. Kasi mga Kapamilya, marami tayong hindi makakalimutang moments dito, at lubos po kaming nagpapasalamat sa lahat ng nakibahagi at nakisaya sa amin tuwing weekend afternoon,"</i> Luis said.<br />

Luis will be hosting a new show "Family Feud" which will replace Celebrity Playtime.<br />

<i>"Nakikiusap po ako na kung paano niyo suportahan ang 'Celebrity Playtime,' sana suportahan niyo ang bago kong show na 'Family Feud," </i>he added.<br />
<br />
Family Feud will start airing this April 9. The shows was first hosted by Edu Manzano, Ogie Alcasid and Richard Gomez in other networks.<br />

Angel Locsin is now recovering from her successful operation of her disc bulge injury. The Kapamilya actress and judge of Pilipinas Got Talent season 5 just posted a photo on her Instagram account lying on bed wearing a neck brace.<br />

Meanwhile, Locsin answered some netizens who questioned her about deleting a re-post video of her ex-boyfriend Luis Manzano wherein the latter sings Justin Bieber's Love Yourself.<br />

A netizen using a username @thisisjos19 reacted to Angel about why she deleted the video.<br />
<br />
In the said video, Angel called Luis her "ex", making her fans think that their breakup is true.<br />
<br />

Now, you can never change it, it's out there. Never make decisions when you're emotional. His family welcomed you, warmly."</i><br />

Angel replied back saying that she deleted the post because she doesn't want to immortalize the video and statement.<br />

However, Manzano, host of Pilipinas Got Talent Season 5, said that their relationship is on the rocks and it has something to do with their misunderstanding but Luis declined to give details.<br />
<br />
MJ Felipe of Bandila reports on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 that according to a source, Luis and Angel are still trying to fix their relationship, that is why Luis is not able to give a confirmation if the rumor break up is true or not.<br />
<br />
Still, Luis still attended the premiere night of Angel's new movie Everything About Her which also stars Luis' mother Vilma Santos-Recto.<br />
<br />
Angel and Luis became a couple in 2007 but parted ways in 2011. They once again crossed path and re-develop their feelings in 2013 until they confirmed that they're together once again in February 2014.<br />
<br />
Our only wish is for Angel and Luis to find the happiness they deserve, whether with each other's arms or with other people's hearts.<br />

Judge Angel Locsin said, <i>"Alam niyo, watching you is like a slice of heaven. Sobrang galing ninyo. Hindi lang kayo nagpakita ng bago. Ako parang natakot ako para sa buhay niya. Ang galing niyo,"</i><br />
<br />
<i>"Yung ginawa niyo, kaya maganda ang epekto sa amin, kasi nararamdaman namin 'yung istorya. May sincerity. May sincerity sa haplos, may sincerity sa tinginan. Totoo 'yung istorya. Damang-dama namin"</i> said the Unkabogable Vice Ganda.<br />

The judges gave the two time to express their feelings to one another befor Padilla pressed the Golden Buzzer which earned the Dynamic Duo a slot to PGT's semi-finals.<br />

Pilipinas Got Talent Season 5 Returns This Saturday on ABS-CBN

The world class talent search "Pilipinas Got Talent" returns on Philippine TV beginning this Saturday, January 23 on ABS-CBN.<br />
<br />
Now on its 5th season, PGT searches for the best Pinoy acts in the country. Hosted by the duo Luis Manzano and Billy Crawford, the newest season of PGT welcomes a new set of judges. Joining resident judge Freddie "FMG" Garcia in the panel of judges are award winning actress Angel Locsin, Idol Robin Padilla, and the unkabogable box-office star Vice Ganda.<br />

The 5th season will now use the Golden Buzzer which allow the judges to press it if they want the act to go straight to the semi-finals.<br />

The live auditions of PGT was held last week at the KIA Theater in Cubao and will go around different parts of the country to search for the best and outstanding talents.<br />
<br />
It was in 2010 when PGT premiered in the Philippines in which the first grand winner Jovit Baldovino was named. Marcelito Pomoy emerged as the grand champion in the second season of the reality talent show while Maasinhon Trio and Roel Manlangit were named champions in the 3rd and 4th season of PGT respectively.<br />
