The 2015 Miss Universe pageant became a controversy after the host Steve Harvey announced the wrong winner of the said beauty contest.

After announcing that the winner of Miss Universe title was Ms. Colombia, Harvey went back to the stage and corrected his mistake.


"I have to apologize." Harvey said.

"The first runner-up is Colombia. Miss Universe 2015 is Philippines... Listen folks. Let me just take control of this. This is exactly what's on the card. I will take responsibility for this. It was my mistake.

In line with the said controversy, Miss Universe pageant officials released their official statement and apologized both to Miss Philippines and Miss Colombia.



"The excitement of live TV was evident tonight on the Miss Universe stage with over 10 million live fan votes tabulated," pageant officials said. "Unfortunately, a live telecast means that human error can come into play. We witnessed that tonight when the wrong winner was initially announced."
