Jaclyn Jose is Cannes 2016's Best Actress for role in 'Ma' Rosa'

Cannes, France - The Philippines brings home the bacon as actress Jaclyn Jose wins best actress at the recently concluded Cannes Film Festival on Sunday, May 22, for her performance as a mother urged to sell drugs to survive.<br />
<br />
The actress was teary-eyed when she accepted the award for her role in Brillante Mendoza's Ma' Rosa.<br />
<br />
Jaclyn told the reporters, "The biggest challenge for me was not to act. Especially since I am coming from television shows where I play loud and campy characters".<br />

In an interview aired on TV Festival de Cannes, Jaclyn shared how much the special moment meant to her.<br />

Aside from Ma' Rosa, Jaclyn previously worked with Brillante Mendoza in the movie 'Serbis', which also competed in Cannes in 2008, and 'Masahista' together with Coco Martin.<br />

Talk show host Boy Abunda confirmed that he was able to talk to the actor where in he said that he was not drunk and the video was not a social experiment, meaning it's real. Baron said that he already apologized to the students but somewhat surprised why they still uploaded the video.<br />

Tres Kantos receives P50,000 which will be donated to their chosen beneficiary, Casa San Miguel in Zambales.<br />

Controversial actor Baron Geisler is once again gaining attention in social media as he went beast mode against a helpless student.<br />
<br />
A student named Khalil Versoza posted the video showing the actor Baron Geisler assaulting a student, which already goes viral hitting more than a million views as of this writing. Versoza, said that they ask for Geisler's services to act for their school project for an editorial design campaign.<br />

The actor accepted the role but due to some fault of the production team, the script was given to Baron a bit late which turned the actor into beast mode despite of the students' apologies.<br />

The student who was attacked by Geisler wasn't able to fight back because he was around around Baron's arms.<br />

The Fil-Australian actress signed an exlusive two-year contract which includes her co-hosting on It's Showtime, singing-reality show We Love Opm and upcoming projects in the Kapamilya network.<br />

"It's just great. ABS-CBN is my home and I'm very happy." said Anne when asked about how it feels to be a Kapamilya.<br />
