Director Jerrrold Tarog will no longer be involved in the upcoming Darna, the television series.

Per Tarog's tweet on January 13, 2021, the director announced that due to "scheduling conflicts" he will no longer be part of the said series.but also said that "some doors remain open regarding my future involvement in the Ravelo universe." He also asked the fans to support the new Darna, Jane De Leon.

A fan also asked if there's a possibility of having a new Darna movie aside from the series to which Tarog replied that it's up to the studio.
Tarog was hired to replace Erik Matti in October 2018 after the latter left due to "creative differrences" with Star Cinema, ABS-CBN's film company. Tarog already shot 40 minutes of the movie but due to pandemic, the movie turned into a television series. No release date is being announced yet.
Jane De Leon replaced Angel Locsin and Liza Soberano after the two actresses obtained injuries.
Darna is an iconic Filipino comic book characters created by Mars Ravelo in 1950's.
