Former GMA singer Jonalyn Viray is now a certified Kapamilya as she transferred to ABS-CBN.

During the grand press conference of ABS-CBN's newest teleserye We Will Survive starring Pokwang and Melai Cantiveros, Jonalyn surprised the media when she entered the scene and sang the theme song of the drama series I Will Survive.

After her performance, Jonalyn was introduced to the press as "Jona", her new screen name.

In an interview with Philippine Entertainment Portal or Pep.ph, Jonalyn confirmed that she is indeed now a Kapamilya.

"Very happy at kinakabahan po ko...Kinakabahan, yes, kasi siyempre bagong environment, bagong makakatrabaho... Pero masaya po ako kasi bagong experiences po ito para sa akin, so nae-excite po ako." said Jonalyn aka Jona.

When asked why she decided to transfer to ABS-CBN, Jonalyn replied, "Mas nabigyan po nila ako ng tiwala sa ngayon at, kumbaga, meron pong naka-line up talaga na project for me."

As a Kapamilya singer, she will now be known as Jona which according to her is her nickname.

"Since it's a fresh start, bagong home din po, baong environment, so Jona."

Jona will also have the possibility to join the Sunday musical-variety show of ABS-CBN, ASAP to which her fellow singers Jay-R and Kyla are now being seen in the said show.

Jonalyn was a product of singing talent search of GMA Network entitled Pinoy Pop Superstar in 2004. She was then seen in GMA's musical-variety shows SOP, Party Pilipinas, and Sunday All-Stars.

She was also a part of a trio La Diva with Aicelle Santos and Maricris Garcia.
