The movie that hits the 2015 MMFF New Wave category, "Tandem", is set to premiere in the silver screen on February 17, 2016.
The movie stars JM De Guzman and Nico Antonio who portrayed the roles of brothers Rex and Roman who are tandem robbers on motorbike. The two brothers face the chaos of the city roads until they are forced to graduate from low level thieves to high profile hit men that tests both their resolve and their relationsip
Joining JM and Nico in "Tandem" are Rochelle Pangilinan who portrayed as Rex's pregnant wife, and Alan Paule as a corrupt polic officer.
Directed by King Palisoc, the film is dubbed as "relevant as today's headline" by PEP.ph. It is a movie that we may call "napapanahon".
A lot of film critics all over the world praise the film including Craig Takeuchi of The Georgia Straight, who said that "Tandem" is an authentically realized drama.
"A gripping, unflinching suspense drama that brings forth the tears as much as it does the thrills." said film maker Quark Henares.
Film critic Gerald Peary of The Arts Fuse/Boston Phoenix even praises Director King Palisoc, saying that he brings to the Philippines the crisp shootouts and orhestrated violence of John Woo and the cool sexuality of Wong Kar-Wai.
