Jennie was able to beat the challenger Christhylljoy Batangas, with her version of the song Listen, popularized by Beyonce. Gabriel garnered a whopping 96.8% versus Batangas' 94.2%.<br />
<br />
Jennie will be back this Monday to defend her battle for the Golden Mic despite already qualifying for Semi-Finals.<br />
<br />
Prior to joining Tawag ng Tanghalan, Jennie has been a "reliever" in comedy bars and guested in several ABS-CBN shows Banana Nite (Now Banana Sundae), and Celebrity Playtime.<br />

After a couple of weeks of losing, ASAP 20 finally beats its rival show Sunday PinaSaya on Sunday, January 24, 2016.<br />
<br />
The Sunday Variety Show garnered 14.6% against PinaSaya's 13.7% based on the data gathered by Kantar Media.<br />

The Pasion De Amor actress said in an interview with Gretchen Fullido that she'll be no longer part of "It's Showtime" family not because she has been axed from the show but rather she will focus on her acting career.<br />

"Actually, I was barely ever there during the entire second half of 2015. I don’t think I’ll be returning. Management talked to me and they want me to focus on acting" Coleen said.<br />

ABS-CBN's newest morning teleserye, 'Be My Lady' gets a strong premiere with 18.7% nationwide against its rival show with only 8.2%. 'Be My Lady', starring real-life couple Erich Gonzales and Daniel Matsunaga, became the 5th most watched program instantly (January 18).<br />
<br />
Previous morning show "Ningning" airs its finale episode last January 15 which earned 18.8% against 8.6% of its rival show.<br />

Though Crawford is still included in "It's Showtime", this is not the case for Coleen as Rose Garcia of Abante Online said that she has been removed from the noontime show following rumors that it's because of the couple's vacation in Africa.<br />

As of this writing, it's still not sure if this news is true but it may be one of the reasons why the couple is not being seen on the set of the Kapamilya's noontime show.<br />

Rumors say that aside from Pastillas Girl, Del Rosario will transfer Bella Padilla, Sarah Geronimo, Nadine Lustre, and Anne Curtis to the Kapatid Network.<br />

On that note, Vice Ganda raised the flag and encourage the viewers to set aside the rivalry and enjoy the show of both networks.<br />

MTRCB Releases Decision on It's Showtime's Pastillas Issue

The Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) releases the result regarding the "pimping" issue of Pastillas Girl aka Angelica Jane Yap in It's Showtime's segment "Nasaan Ka, Mr. Pastillas?" filed by womens' group Gabriela.<br />

In a three-page resolution signed by MTRCB Chairman Eugenio 'Toto' Villareal dated October 13, 2015, the agency stated that It's Showtime should have a 'self-regulation' for their segment so that it doesn't violate the rights of Angelica Yap as a woman.<br />
<br />
The resolution also states that Pastilla Girl should know what will happen in each and every episode of the segment before airing it in live broadcast. MTRCB also reiterated that the clothes being worn by Pastillas Girl should still follow the "PG" or "Parental Guidance" rating of the show.<br />
<br />
Below is the part of the resolution letter of MTRCB Chairman Villareal addressed to Reily Santiago (Business Unit Head), Fulgencio Follero Jr. (Producer), and Atty. Monalisa Manalo (Legal Counsel) of It's Showtime:<br />
<br />
<i>"Further to the Memorandum of Understanding dated 28 March 2012 by and between our Agency and various television networks and entities, including ABS-CBN Corporation, we confirm the Gender and Development (GAD) conference the special Sub-Committee of our GAD Committee conducted with representatives of your program It's Showtime...</i><br />
<i><br /></i>
<i>"At the beginning of the conference, we reiterated that gender-sensitivity, and particularly respect for women (in turn, anchored on the dignity of the human person) is a State policy as well as a commitment of the Philippines under international law.</i><br />
<i><br /></i>
<i>"This is plain in the Magna Carta of  Women (R.A. 9710) and in the ratification by the Philippines in 1981 of the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW). R.A. 9710, Section 16, particularly prohibits the discriminatory and or derogatory portrayal of women in media and fiIm.</i><br />
<i><br /></i>
<i>"In this connection, the MTRCB and other relevant government agencies make up the country's Gender Equality Committee (GEC). The GEC, formed under Section 19, Implementing Rules and Regulations of the Magna Carta of Women, is specifically tasked to promote gender mainstreaming as a framework and ensure the implementation of gender equality guidelines.</i><br />
<i><br /></i>
<i>"During the main part of the GAD conference, and after your being apprised of the concerns raised in regard to the segment Pastillas Girl, we acknowledge the following resolutions on your part:</i><br />
<ul>
<li><i>the program shall ensure the protection of Ms. Angelica Yap's (the real name of the so-called Pastillas Girl) dignity as a young woman by introducing scenes depicting her empowerment as a person while she faces various challenges in her young life (in this v/ay, the impression, for instance, that her "only reason forliving is to have a boyfriend" can be negated); and the program shall continue to brief Ms. Yap before any episode considering that she is arguably now a "public figure" and thus may be perceived as a "model" by young women; this will ensure words and actions appropriate to the "PG" rating of the program.</i></li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li><i>Our Special Sub-Committee also acknowledged your manifestation that you have actually provided Ms. Yap a life coach so that she may be guided as to how to mold her character positively and enable her to plan her life with care and informed choices, to the end that she will hopefully be able to avoid the earlier pitfalls she experienced. It may be good to bring this out in the program upon prior consultation with Ms. Yap and her family.</i></li>
</ul>
<i>"On another matter, we took the opportunity to discuss with you certain concerns that have been expressed by some televiewers over the manner of dressing and/or movement of certain participants in your program that may be deemed as "inappropriate" for television. We welcome the information you gave us that it is your rule to:</i><br />
<ul>
<li><i>subject any manner of dressing to a three-tiered process of review—under which any attire or costume is first screened by a segment producer, which determination is subsequently reviewed by a wardrobe executive, and then finally decided upon by an administrative associate producer; and</i></li>
<li><i>require prior rehearsal by any performer for review and approval by program executives, to the end that the number does not violate any norm of gender-sensitivity or other rule.</i></li>
</ul>
<i>"Consistent with the provisions of Presidential Decree No. 1986, we strongly enjoin you to adhere to, and if need be supplement the above measures of self-regulation.</i><br />
<i><br /></i>
<i>"Also, we cannot help but stress the need for constant and unwavering vigilance in regard to the depiction and portrayal of women in your program. You will necessarily have to sharpen the saw, so to speak, in regard to both gender-sensitive orientation as well as action.</i><br />

In the data released by Kantar Media / TNS, the "National Pabebe Wave" Episode of Eat Bulaga got 30.8% ratings both in Urban and Rural. Though It's Showtime shows improvement in the ratings game with 22.5%, it cannot deny the fact that ABS-CBN's pool of talents, mostly love teams are the reasons why the show increased its ratings.<br />
<br />
However, in the data released by ratings provider AGB Nielsen, It's Showtime lost big time against Eat Bulaga.<br />
<br />
Eat Bulaga registered a whopping 45.7% ratings in Mega Manila household against Showtime's 11.9% and 37.2% in NUTAM ratings against 17.4%.<br />
<br />
Indeed, the phenomenal love team AlDub battles almost all of the love teams of the other network but still emerges as winners.<br />

Reports from news site <a href="http://www.interaksyon.com/entertainment/gabriela-urges-mtrcb-to-probe-its-showtime-for-pimping-pastillas-girl/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">interaksyon.com</a> say that letters are being sent last week to MTRCB Chairman Toto Villareal, as well as Showtime's Executive Producer Mark Rejano, as Gabriela receives a lot of complaints from concerned citizens, saying that the show is pimping Angelica Yap aka Ms. Pastillas to different men.<br />

<i>"As an organization dealing with the protection and advancement of women’s right, we cannot dismiss such complaints,"</i> Salvador said in her letters.<i> "We have been consistent in our statement that competition to sell the show and the ratings war should not be done at the expense of women."</i><br />
<br />
Angelica Yap rose to fame after her video of "Paano Gumawa ng Pastillas" became viral on YouTube regarding her ex-boyfriend dumping her, thus relating the incident to the pastillas recipe. She was then guested in It's Showtime's "Advice Ganda" and later on became a part of the show.<br />
<br />
The phenomenal success Yaya Dub and Alden Richards, known as love team AlDub has forced It's Showtime to create a dating segment for Ms. Pastillas in which she's being partnered with several male suitors to find her Mr. Pastillas.<br />
<br />
MTRCB and It's Showtime have not yet responded to Gabriela's complaint as of this writing.

Yap is a 21-year-old student from Far Eastern University who became viral because of her video of "Paano Gumawa ng Pastillas". Though the story was not actually written by her, still the video caught the attention of noontime show "It's Showtime" and decided to do a "Twitterserye" searching for Yap's Mr. Pastillas.<br />
<br />
Though fans of the said noontime show appreciate the segment, most netizens bash the segment and Pastillas Girl saying that the series should be known as "Bugaw Serye" because of the way the Showtime hosts push the girl to find Mr. Pastillas ONLINE. Yap receives personal attacks because of the video using foul and obscene languages and because of the said segement in Showtime.<br />

In yesterday's episode of It's Showtime, Vice Ganda asked Pastillas girl what she feels to which Yap replied:<br />

The hashtag was a result of the noontime show It's Showtime that features a girl named Angelica Jane Yap, known as "Pastillas Girl" looking for her "Mr. Pastillas". Yap was discovered via her video showing how to make pastillas but the real message was about his boyfriend who cheated on her.<br />

Apprently, the said segment was Showtime's answer to the Eat Bulaga's Kalyeserye featuring the phenomenal love team AlDub (Alden Richards and Yaya Dub).
