<br />
Though there's no date indicated on the letter, it can be assumed that it was the day before the late actor went to Cagayan de Oro and was left for Claudine to be read.<br />

On March 29, 2002, Rico Yan was found dead in Palawan at the age of 27 which shocked the nation and Claudine.<br />
<br />
Rico was not just a successful actor but also a spokeperson, entrepreneur, and a youth role model.<br />

The Metropolitan Development Authority or  MMDA finally announced on December 26, 2015 the box-office results and the top 4 movie entries of the 41st Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF).<br />
<br />
Organizing Committee and MMDA Chairman Emerson Carlos reveals that Vice Ganda's Beauty and the Bestie, Vic Sotto's My Bebe Love: #KiligPaMore, Kris Aquino's All You Need is Pag-ibig, and horror film Haunted Mansion are the top 4 MMFF movies on opening day.<br />
<br />
This year's opening-day gross reaches P150 Million compared to last year's P147 Million.<br />
<br />
Though MMDA chairman did not disclose the actual ranking of of the top 4 movies to protect the other films, GMA News reports that AlDub's first movie "My Bebe Love" already earned P60-million on the first day of the festival, making it the new record holder of the Biggest Opening for an MMFF Movie and the Biggest Opening for a Pinoy Film.<br />

The Graded A film by Cinema Evaluation Board (CEB), "Honor Thy Father" has been disqualified by the MMFF Committee to win the Best Picture award, a day after the official opening of the 2015 Metro Manila Film Festival.<br />

Mr. Monteverde releases an official statement regarding the disqualification of the film Honor Thy Father thur the film's Facebook page.<br />

Monteverde reiterated that they complied with all the MMFF's requirements and did not commit an non-disclosure of any kind and that no MMFF rule was ever violated.<br />

<i>When Reality Entertainment partnered with John Lloyd Cruz in producing “Honor Thy Father” we agreed to make a movie that would capture a small portion of the struggle of the Filipino as he tried to transcend the back-breaking realities and limitations of his life. We wanted to tell the story of Edgar, a Filipino who finally fights back. After putting up with so much oppression, he confronts the people that have made his life hell, people motivated by greed for money and lust for power.</i><br />
<i><br /></i>
<i>Little did I know then that this same narrative would find its way to the movie’s own history.</i><br />
<i><br /></i>
<i>Today I received a letter from the Metro Manila Film Festival informing me that their Executive Committee had disqualified our movie from the Best Picture Category of the 2015 MMFF Awards. The reason for this, the letter said, was our “non-disclosure” of our participation in the CinemaOne Originals Film Festival as the Opening Film.</i><br />
<i><br /></i>
<i>Let me refute this allegation of non-disclosure. If you will recall, Honor Thy Father was a late addition to the MMFF 2015 lineup. It had been rejected by their selection committee when the lineup was announced in June. On October 23 our film was officially offered a slot after an entry pulled out. By then we had already accepted CinemaOne’s invitation to screen as Opening Film. We informed the MMFF Secretariat, both by email and by phone, about this. We complied with their request for a letter from CinemaOne head Ronald Arguelles attesting that the screening was non-revenue generating and by invitation only. We have all of this on record.</i><br />
<i><br /></i>
<i>Secondly, each MMFF entry is allowed a maximum of two premieres. Our CinemaOne screening would be our premiere.</i><br />
<i><br /></i>
<i>Let me repeat: we complied with all the MMFF’s requirements; we did not commit any non-disclosure of any kind; no MMFF rule was ever violated by Honor Thy Father.</i><br />
<i><br /></i>
<i>I am questioning the reasons, the timing, and the means employed in enforcing this decision by the MMFF Executive Committee. Where is due process in all of this? We were merely informed of their decision, not given any opportunity to air our side. They sent the letter today. The awarding ceremony is tomorrow. Are they merely being good scouts and sticklers for the rules, even when no rule was broken? Or is there some other reason? Why disqualify the movie only from the Best Picture category and not all categories? Whose interests are being protected by this last-minute decision?</i><br />
<i><br /></i>
<i>Together with my director Erik Matti, co-executive producer and actor John Lloyd Cruz, and everyone behind Honor Thy Father, I demand answers. We demand an investigation. But if no one would care or bother to investigate, then we simply wish that the moviegoers, the Filipino people would start to question and be more critical of what, year in and year out, is passed off to them as good and true.</i><br />

<i>They can have their Best Picture and all the other awards. We just want to keep making movies that people will care about, MMFF or no MMFF.</i><br />

The battle is on in the 2015 Metro Manila Film Festival as eight (8) movie entries are being shown in different cinemas starting December 25th, 2015.<br />

However, late afternoon on Friday, there has been some reports of ticket-swapping between two movies My Bebe Love and Beauty and the Bestie particularly in SM Cinemas nationwide. AlDub fans claim that SM Cinemas issued tickets bearing the Star Cinema movie despite buying "My Bebe Love" tickets.<br />

TMZ, an entertainment site, posted a copy of the letter from Vivid Entertainment founder and co-chairman Steve Hirsch, presenting Miss Colombia a way to benefit financially and increases her fame " way beyond the Miss Universe controversy.<br />

The finale episode of GMA Network's "Beautiful Strangers" was unfortunately beaten by the Kilig Serye of ABS-CBN, "On the Wings of Love" last November 27, 2015.<br />

In a data provided by ratings provider Kantar Media, "Beautiful Strangers" received 17.4% while OTWOL got 21.1%<br />
<br />
"Beautiful Strangers" stayed on air for about three months but was cut short due to poor ratings. "On the Wings of Love" on the other hand continues to trend weeknights and receive good ratings. The kilig-serye is also extended until Feburary of 2016.<br />
<br />
Last Monday, the new rival of OTWOL premiered on GMA Telebabad. "Because of You" is topbilled by Gabby Concepcion, Rafael Rosell and Carla Abellana.<br />
<br />
Will this new series be able to bring down "On the Wings of Love" starring JaDine - James Reid and Nadine Lustre? Or will this be GMA Network's third series to be axed against ABS-CBN's kilig-serye?<br />

Rumors about Regine Velasquez-Alcasid transferring from GMA Network to ABS-CBN are circulated over the internet since the Sunday noontime show "Sunday All Stars" have been axed by Kapuso Network.<br />

The alleged network transfer began when the Asia's Songbird was not included in the SAS' replacement "Sunday PinaSaya". It can be remembered that Regine declined the offer as she does not want to be the only one among the talents of the axed program to be part of APT's comedy noontime show.<br />
<br />
Despite being seen in GMA's Sarap Diva and Starstruck, the rumors continue to circulate after she was not seen in GMA's Christmas Station ID. Regine also clarrifies the issue saying that it was only a matter of conflict in scheduling, that's why she was not able to join the shooting of GMA's CSID.<br />
<br />
However, that doesn't stop there as the Asia's Songbird is still being rumored to be one of the judges of ABS-CBN's Pilipinas Got Talent, replacing Comedy Concert Queen Ai-Ai De Las Alas, and will also host ABS-CBN's "Tawag ng Tanghalan".<br />
<br />
But now, Regine finally clears all the speculations. On her Instagram account, Regine confirmed that she's already renewing her contract with GMA for another 2 years as shown below:<br />

A CCTV footage caught the incident which happened in Barangay 131 in Caloocan. Yap was about to eat at a roadside eatery in Tagaytay Street in Caloocan together with one of her daughters and niece when the gunman approached her from behind and shot her at a close range.<br />
<br />
Yap fell down as the gunman fled. She was then brought to a nearby hospital but was pronounced dead at 9:20pm. Pastillas Girl or Angelica Yap arrived at the hospital upon learning about the incident.<br />
<br />
Teteng's relative Tumping Fabian confirmed that Yap received a lot of death threats thru text. The messages said Yap will be finished before Christmas. Despite being afraid, Yap just ignored the threats.<br />
<br />
Investigators and police officials are still gathering resources and information about the incident as of this writing.<br />

Present in the contract signing were big bosses from ABS-CBN including Star Magic Boss Johnny Manahan, ABS-CBN Free TV head Cory Vidanes, ABS-CBN COO Carlo Katigbak, and ABS-CBN TV Production head Laurenti Dyogi. Elmo's mom, Pia Magalona, is also present in the signing.<br />

Elmo's contract with GMA expired last August 2015 and her former love team Janine Gutierrez was paired for another Kapuso actor for a new TV project. Elmo's last project with Kapuso Network was "More Than Words".<br />

Elmo's first project with ABS-CBN will be the upcoming teleserye "Born For You", in which he will be paired with Janella Salvador. The series will be shown in early 2016.<br />

Despite the transfer, Elmo reiterated that there's no bad blood between him and GMA Network.<br />

"A Second Chance" is a sequel to the 2007 drama film "One More Chance" and tells the story of Popoy (John Lloyd) and Basha (Bea) whom after a couple of years, opened a new chapter of their lives through marriage.<br />

Joining the cast of "A Second Chance" are the original "barkada" of Popoy and Basha: Dimples Romana, James Blanco, Bea Saw, Janus Del Prado, and Ahron Villena.<br />

A whopping 40.9% rating based on Kantar Media makes FPJ's Ang Probinsyano still the most-watched TV Program on Philippine TV. Coco Martin's action-drama series beats its rival "Marimar" that only reaches 20.8%. Meanwhile, Pangako Sa Yo also beats its new rival show "Little Nanay" with 34.6% vs 19.2% respectively.<br />

But now, data provided by Kantar Media shows that GGV only got 12.6% last September 13 and even got a single digit rating of 9.7% last September 20. And in the recent data gathered by Kantar, GGV got 9.5% ratings last November 15 against Sunday Night Box Office's 2.4%</div>

John Philip Bughaw, popularly known as "Balang" guested on Ellen De Generes months ago to show his talent in dancing. Few months after, the YouTube sensation and It's Showtime's "Mini-me 2" finalist returns to the show on Monday, November 16, 2015.<br />

In an interview with Ellen, Balang updated the host about what he's been doing since he first appeared on the show. Interpreted by his sister, he said he's been teaching zumba class for free but the first time he taught, he earned $80.<br />

After the break, the 7-year old kid danced to Beyonce's "Single Ladies". He then had the chance to have a show down with the show's resident DJ tWitch. Both dance to the tune of "Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae" by Silento.<br />

Manilalink.com claimed that they had an interview with the 38-year-old Kapamilya actor, confirming and ending the rumors that he's gay.<br />

Excerpts from the said website reads:<br />

<i>In an exclusive interview with Manila Link, the 38-year-old actor who has been the subject of gay rumors for most of his career, confirmed that he has been in relationships with both women and men.</i><br />

<i>Regarding the reason behind his admission of the truth, he says, "I don't want to hide anymore. Wala na 'kong pake kung ano'ng sabihin nila. [After] 21 years in showbiz, all I want is to be free and be with who I want to be with."</i><br />

In line with this, ABS-CBN's Entertainment Website Push.ph contacted the actor himself and asked Piolo regarding the said "interview" to which the actor denied that he had an interview with Manilalink. Push.ph releases a statement via its official Facebook page that reads:
